When we first got to El Salvador it was Summer of 2005. It seemed like vacation until it was time to start searching for a school. There were so many options to choose from like: public school, private Catholic school, Private Christian school, etc. Our ultimate choice was a private bilingual school. The first day of school was very nerve-wracking and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Some classes were in english and some were in Spanish. Those in Spanish were difficult because they weren’t teaching me how to read or write. I was forced to learn on my own. A lot of things were spelt incorrectly and I couldn’t understand everything they said.
